Nando’s, home of the legendary flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken, is set to turn up the heat in Cork with the opening of its second restaurant on Tuesday 24th November 2015.
The Academy Street city centre location will bring more than 50 full and part-time jobs to the area, ranging from cashiers and grillers to managers. The new restaurant will be the largest Nando’s in Ireland, bringing the total number across the country to 11.
Located in a former Methodist Church dating back to 1880, the 152-cover restaurant interior will see many of the building’s stunning original features restored to their former glory, including an atrium, exposed brickwork and timber roof trusses. Highlighting Nando’s South African roots, original art from emerging and established South African artists will feature throughout the restaurant alongside flagstone limestone floor tiling and metallic touches in copper leaf and steel.
Alongside delicious flame grilled PERi-PERi chicken served on or off the bone, in a wrap, burger or pitta, die-hard fans will be delighted to see new items spicing up the menu including Chicken Drumsticks and Fillet Steak & Chargrilled Veg Wrap.
Alan Snyman, Regional MD of Nando’s commented, “The team is really excited to be opening the doors to our new restaurant in the heart of Cork. This vibrant location will be perfect for shoppers, visitors and students from the nearby university for a PERi-PERi pit-stop!”
